Step configurations

Step configurations are configuration files used for executing a package. These configurations
contain some or all configurations of the "Steps" tab of the project folder for which system
variables (Page 368) exist.
These package configurations are contained within the package on the "Step tree"
(Page 214) dialog page or also externally next to the package in a file.
For the execution of the package, one of these configurations is selected and activated on the
"Step tree (Page 216)" dialog page. This has the advantage that one and the same package
is executed with different step configurations (automatically) without changes to the project/
package.
For example, a single switchover makes it possible with one package to produce a machine
at one time point with layout A and a machine with layout B at another time point.

Managing configurations

"Configuration" main menu overview
Configurations are managed via the "Configuration" main menu.
The following submenus for managing the configurations are called in Expert via the
"Configuration" main menu:

Permits storage of the active configurations (as
a file) in the "List of project configurations".
Permits storage of the active configurations (as
file) in the "List of project configurations" in the
"Package configuration" dialog.
Permits storage of the active step configuration
as a file in the "List of step configurations" in
the "Step tree" dialog.
Permits the upload of a configuration from the
"List of project configurations". The active con‐
figurations are overwritten by this upload.
Permits uploading of a configuration from the
"List of package configurations" in the "Pack‐
age configuration" dialog. The active configura‐
tions are overwritten by this upload.
Permits uploading of a configuration from the
"List of step configurations" in the "Step tree"
dialog. The active step configurations are over‐
written by this upload.
