● Password list is always transferred to new internal components:
If a new, internal component is created within the project, the password list of the project for this new component
will automatically be transferred.
● Password list is always transferred to new, external components:
If a new, external component is created in the project, the password list of the project for this new component
will automatically be transferred.

Transferring a password list to existing components

NOTICE
Password protection does not act for linked external files
Note that password protection (read protection) acts only for projects, packages as well as
internal linked components and files.
External linked files are ignored by the password protection.
Examples of external linked files:
● Archives
● Cycles
● Manipulation tasks
● Configuration files
● etc.
Applications
The relevant dialog for transferring the password list is started via the
"Project or Component" > "Password protection" > "Transfer the password list" > "To project
components... / to components of an archive folder..." main menu.
For some applications, it is desirable to manually transfer your password list to your
components.
For example:
● You have created a project with a lot of internal linked, internal unlinked as well as external
linked components.
● You have created a new password list to protect the project or have changed it. You want
to transfer this password list to all of the components of your project.
● You have created many unlinked components. You want to transfer subsequent changes
to the password list to these components.
