Average Range:
With the use of the Average Range feature, you can decide how many pixels from the detected edge positions
are averaged. If the desired position is not detected as a result of testing by using the default value, change the
Average Range value. Increase the Average Range value to detect slightly inside the edges of the object.
Decrease the value to detect on the edges of the object. If you want to let the PV310 detect the edges of a
circle, sharp or concavo-convex detection part, try to decrease the Average Range value (0, 1) as much as
possible.
Average = 0
The detection position is the edge position on the tip of the detected part.
(In the example above, the detection position is located on the bottom line.)
Average = 1
The coordinate values of the edge on the tip of the detected part are averaged.
(In the example above, the tip edge is located on the line 105.)
Thus, the coordinate values of the edge on the lines from 105.0 to 105.9 are averaged.
Average = 2
The coordinate values of the edges located between on the tip line and on the next line
are averaged.
(In the example above, the tip edge is located on the line 105.
Thus, the coordinate values of the edge on the lines from 105.0 to 106.9 are averaged.)
If you set the Average Range value to more than 1, not only Y coordinates (for the horizontal scan direction)
but also X coordinate (for the vertical scan direction) will be averaged.
