6.8.3 Setting Procedure

Settings of inspection conditions
1.
Proceed up to "Configure the setting for preprocessing" at the third step following section 6.2.1.
2.
Set "Area Size Adj." as necessary.
The "Area Size Adj." function can expand or contract the inspection area to fit the object. Refer to page 85.
3.
Highlight "Target".
Select "White" or "Black" from the submenu.
White:
For a binary image, measures the area of pixels in white.
Black:
For a binary image, measures the area of pixels in black.
4.
Select "Filter".
When filtering, select "Dilation" or "Erosion" from the submenu while checking the image.
Filter:
Dilates or erodes a cluster of the object image pixels selected at step 3. Mainly use this function when you
delete a slight noise or enhance a detected area.
5.
Select "Position Adj." and press the ENTER key.
(If a position adjustment checker has not been created, the sub menu item
"Position Adj." is not displayed.) When making a position/rotation
adjustment, specify the number of Position Adjustment.
But, the number of position/rotation-adjustment-referred checkers must be
lower than the number of the position/rotation-adjustment-referring
checker. (See page 140 for Position Adjustment and page 152 for
Rotation Adjustment)
6.
Select "Max. Area Limit" and press the ENTER key.
The value shown at the right of "Max. Area Limit" is selected.
Max. /Min. Area Limit:
This function is effective if you want to let the PV310
detect an object of certain size or only the desired objects
when there exist both the desired objects and the
undesired objects. Only the object having an area within
the "Min./Max. Area Limit" is detected.
When you want to let the PV310 count the non-bitten
apples in the figure shown on the right, set to the
following values:
Max. Area Limit: 245760 (initial value)
Min. Area Limit: 400
The clusters of more than 400 pixels are counted so that
the bitten apples of 350-pixel area are ignored. Therefore, four apples will be detected.
