6.9.3 Setting Procedure

Inspection Conditions
1.
Proceed up to "Configure the setting for preprocessing" at the third step following section 6.2.1.

Select "Detection Object".
Choose "Normal" or "Low Contrast".
If you set the Smart Matching checker first, precede to the next step while "Normal" (initial value) is
selected.
The Low Contrast function is effective if the contrast between the object image and the background is very
low or the some parts of the image of the object may disappear, chipped or shielded, or for the noises in
the uneven background. But, the image processing time in the mode will be longer than in normal mode.
Refer to page 119 for settings of a low contrast image.

Select "Template".

Select "Change".

Set the area you want to save as a base image and decide the start
and end points.
Set a mask area as necessary.
6.
Move the output point (the currently displayed "+" mark) and press the ENTER key.
You can position the output point outside the template area. Even if the
output point is placed out of the display area its detection position can be
output. When the template area is displayed in yellow, the template
setting is completed.

The following messages may be displayed when setting a template.
E0130 Image has no features.
This message indicates the image in the template area has no or a few features. Check the grayscale
image. If you still cannot save the template after doing so, adjust the size of the template area.
The template can be updated (or re-registered using the current image) by using the input signals from
the external device. See section 10.5.3 for details.

Output point is the one that indicates the location of an image when the same image as the
template was detected. After image detection, the coordinate values of this point are output
to the external device. You can place the output point at the desired location (the output
point does not always have to be positioned within the template area.).
