11.1 Overview

Communication Mode
This is a communication mode to communicate with the external device via RS232C. The following three
communication modes are available. Communication contents differ depending on the mode. Select a
proper mode for your environment. Even if you choose any mode, most of the provided commands will
be available.

Description
This is a 3-wire nonprocedural mode. In this mode, after inspection, the
following signals are not accepted until communication is complete.
This is a 3-wire nonprocedural mode. In this mode, after inspection, READY
signal is recovered while communication is established. After inspection
execution starts, the ready signal is recovered. Communication is established
when the AX40 does not perform image-processing tasks (when an image
import is executed while READY signal is on). READY signal OFF time
(Inspection Execution Time) is shorter than that for Serial (Per Start). (Refer to
page 209 for Timing Chart.)
Computer link supports a specific PLC. The AX40 writes inspection results to
the specific registers of PLC. Since the PLC automatically sends a response,
program for receiving data at the PLC side is not necessary. See page 241
