11.3.4 Specifying a Parameter for COM Port

When making the settings of the COM port, follow the steps below. Be sure to specify the same
parameters for COM port that were used for the COM port setting for the communication destination and
PLC.

Setting Procedure
1.
In SETUP mode, select "ENVIRONMENT" > "Serial Settings" from
the menu bar.

Open the Port tab.
When PLC Model is set to "MELSEC FX", the setting values for the port are fixed.
Store "0" in the MELSEC FX register for specifying communication format.
Register for specifying communication format: D8120 (or D8420)

The values above are transmission speed. The
value gets larger the communication speed gets
faster.
To set the bit number per letter.
To set the bit number of the signal that recognizes
the end of data.
To specify the number of overhead bits to check
for proper data transmission.
To set how to control the handshake flow.
