Contact supervision (Contact SV)
2.8.1
The contact supervision function is designed for monitor the auxiliary contacts of circuit
breakers (CBs) and disconnectors (DSs). The function can allow the supervision function,
which is discussed in

CB and DS contact supervision
(i)
Table 2.8-1 shows the relationship between the main-contact and the auxiliary-contact in the
CB and the DS. When the main-contact is 'Open', the N/O and N/C contacts of the auxiliary-
contact are at 'Open' and 'Closed', respectively. However, if the both N/O and the N/C are
positioned at 'Open', the auxiliary contact is incorrect. Likewise, if the both are at 'Closed', the
auxiliary contact is incorrect. The function can supervise an incorrect condition of the
auxiliary-contact.

Figure 2.8-1 illustrates the conditions of the auxiliary-contacts are obtained through the
replica function. Figure 2.8-2 shows that a 'CB_FAIL' signal is integrated; it is transferred to
Automatic supervision function.
The user should set On for the scheme switch [CB-SV] when the contact supervision is
required. Enter a timer for the setting [TCBSV]; the timer should be set between 0 to 100
seconds.
