Transformer module for AC analog input (VCT)
The transformer module (VCT) of the IED is used to acquire the power system quantities. A
safety feature is available such that all of the VCT current inputs are shorted when a VCT
module is removed from the IED case; all of the voltage inputs are disconnected, but the user
should make short circuit all AC current inputs and disconnect all AC voltage inputs.
Note: Respective input signals of the VCT are signified with CH number (CT_CH*) and
protection identifiers (VT_ZA, VT_ZB, etc.); the numbers and identifiers are
corresponded with respective CTs and VTs on the VCTs. The user can set each
ratio and rating for the VTs and the CTs using the setting screen shown below.
The signals acquired on the VCTs are discussed in succeeding sections. For the
setting, refer to section
screens below are samples on LCD or GR-TIEMS screens.
