Operating time alarm (OPTA)
10.3.3
Operating time alarm (OPTA) function is provided for CB mechanism maintenance. The
function checks that CB opens properly after IED outputs CB trip signal. If CB does not open
after a certain time has passed since IED outputted CB trip signal, operating time alarm
(OPTA) function issues an alarm.

Logics
Figure 10.3-5 shows the scheme logic for judging the operating time alarm.
If the CB_OPEN signal does not generate before the timer value defined by the setting
[OPTALM] elapses after the GEN.TRIP signal as the CB trip signal is generated, the alarm
signal OPTA_FAIL is generated.
Once OPTA_FAIL signal is generated the signal is latched, and it can be released by the
generation of PLC command [OPTA_RESET_COMMAND]. The "CLEAR" key command is
assigned to the PLC command as default.
The logic is performed when the setting [OPTA-EN] is On.
