If the text on the LCD screen is garbled, it may be recovered by initializing the LCD screen. In
the reason, the IED has the function to initialize only LCD screen.
By the method to keep pushing ENTER key and CANCEL key simultaneously for more than
3 seconds, only LCD screen can be initialized while keeping the protection and control function
active. Note that "Initializing..." is being displayed on the LCD screen during the initialization.
LEDs
5.7.3
LEDs (#1 and #2) are used to describe IED statuses. The others (#3–#14) are provided for the
user-programmable indicators, which allow the user can check internal operations. PLC
function can also control to turn on LEDs. User's prefer indicator label can be created using
GR-TIEMS® label maker (See
LEDs‡ (#3–#14) are user-programmable indicators. Figure 5.7-3 shows the LEDs logics. Each
LED can be lit and controlled using a logic-gate-switch setting etc.
For simplicity, we discuss the setting at LED #3 hereafter, but the others (LED#4–#14) are the
same as LED #3. Table 5.7-2 shows the LED indicator settings; Table 5.7-3 shows the signal
monitoring points on all LED indicator logics.

LED light up origins
(i)
LED #3 turns on when the logic get signals coming from other functions. There are eight ports:
[Input signal1] to [Input signal8]. Set a signal for the light up.
Light origins handler
(ii)
Light up signal can be generated at LED #3 logic; it will be generated using the eight origins
in a signal handler. The user can set the logic operation in the hander with setting [LOGIC-
SW]; set either AND, OR or XOR for the settings.
