4.4 Troubleshooting

4.4.1 Troubleshooting Table

If an abnormal phenomenon is encountered, reference should
be made to the following table.

Cause
a. Improper measuring
conditions are entered or
operation was wrong.
b. Abnormal operation of the
mechanism.
a. .The liquid leaks.
b. The leak sensor is
contaminated.
a. Air is trapped in the flow path
(syringe, tube, etc.). Or the
detergent in the flow path is
not deaerated sufficiently.
b. The injection port leaks.
c. The syringe valve leaks.
d. The injection valve leaks.
e. The tubing in the flow path
leaks or is clogged.
f. The syringe leaks or its inside
is contaminated.
g. The sample volume is too
small.

Remedy
a. Perform correct operation
according to the message
(Refer to 4.5).
b. Check to see if anything is in
the path of the mechanism.
Also check whether the flow
path is clogged or not.
a. Wipe off liquid leakage from the
drain reservoir. Wipe off liquid
leakage from the leak sensor.
b. Wipe off contamination from
the leak sensor.
a. Repeat the WASH operation
several times to get rid of air.
Fill the flow path with the
deaerated detergent (refer to
3.4.2)
b. Check the lock nut and
retighten if loose. Or replace
the port seal.
c. Check that the fixing screws
are tightened properly (not
tightened unevenly).
Or replace the valve seal or
stator.
d. Check that the fixing screws
are tightened properly (not
tightened unevenly).
Replace the tube seal or stator.
e. Check the flow path setscrew
and retighten if loose.
Make sure the tip of tube is not
deformed or the ferrule is not
crushed.
f. Check the fixing screw and
retighten if loose. Clean or
replace the syringe or its tip.
g. Increase the sample volume.
