The interior of the Chromaster 5310 column oven is apt to reach
a very high temperature through setting. If an organic solvent
or the like were to leak in such a high temperature environment,
it could lead to a serious hazard such as explosion. A leak
sensor is thus equipped to detect organic solvent vapor.
When the leak sensor detects vapor from organic solvent, the
output of the sensor increases, and if the output exceeds the set
detection level, a leak error occurs and temperature control of
the column oven is halted.
Upon detection of a leak error, the buzzer sounds for five
seconds. After this the buzzer will stop, but the error will not be
reset until the CL key is clicked.
NOTE: 1. The detection sensitivity of the leak sensor varies
with the kind of solvent. An organic solvent
whose vapor pressure is low might not be detected,
so a visual check should be made for leakage.
2. The leak sensor output will be unstable for about
5 minutes after turning ON the power switch,
during which time leak detection cannot be made.
3. When a leak has been detected, open the lid of the
oven at once. Then repair the leaking part in the
oven and wipe up all of the leaked solvent.
