For ensuring reliable routine operations through prevention of a
trouble, periodic checkup must be carried out, referring to Table
4-1. This table lists the items of periodic maintenance/checkup.

Every day
Before analysis, check the drain
tray for contamination. If dust or
contaminant is stuck to the tray,
cleaning is required.
Every day
Check that the "D2 LAMP" LED is
lit.
Every day
Activate the auto zero function
and check if ABS indication
becomes zero.
Every month
1) Judge whether the lamp has
reached the end of its service
life by checking for poor
energy and for arrival at the
maximum allowable total ON-
time.
2) Judge whether the lamp has
reached the end of its service
life by checking for significant
baseline fluctuations
(excessive drift or noise).
Every year
Check each wavelength using the
bright lines at 486 and 656 nm of
the D
lamp and the bright line at
2
254 nm of the Hg lamp.

to malfunction.
