8. Tighten the nuts securing the axle retaining bracket
to the frame. Torque them to 75 ft-lbs. (102 Nm)
(Fig. 0475).
9. Repeat steps 3 through 8 for the other drive chain.
10. Start the engine and raise the bucket to return the
front wheels to the ground.

Wheel Motor Removal

Note: Upon removal, all seals, o-rings and gaskets
should be replace. During installation, lightly
lubricate all seals, o-rings and gaskets with
clean petroleum jelly prior to assembly.
Note: The following procedures show removal of
the left wheel motor. To remove the right
wheel motor remove the battery and then
follow the same procedures. Refer to "Battery
Removal" on page 4/5-6.
1. Raise the machine off the floor. Refer to "Raising the
Traction Unit" on page 3/1-1.
Note: The bottom of the frame under the wheel
motor must be 12" (30cm) off the ground.
2. Using a 1/2" socket, remove the 2 bolts securing the
chain cover to the main frame (Fig. 0476).
