15. Disconnect the negative and then the positive
battery cable from the battery (Fig. 1021).
16. Remove the battery hold-down and retainer (Fig.
1022).

17. Remove the battery (Fig. 1023).
18. Using a 1/2" wrench and socket, remove the 2 bolts
and nuts securing the battery tray to the frame.
Remove the bolt securing the inside of the tray to the
frame (Fig. 1024).
