Verify that the cable length and signal meet the specified
requirements.

Configure a span operation interoperate with FLASHWAVE
9500 full spec mode, class interoperability mode, multi-haul
interoperability mode, or Open ROADM mode.
Provision the mode through the OTS operation mode
command under OTS configuration.

Verify that the correct PIU type is installed.
Caution: The OSC must be active for traffic to be restored.
A failure of the OSC may keep traffic from recovering on a
span. Check the channel provisioning and correct, if
necessary.
