System Description and Engineering
System and Network Services
RADIUS is a remote authentication method which allows users to provision user account information (username
and passwords) for authentication on a server external to the network element. It provides the ability for users
to log accounting information (for example: login time and IP) on an external server.
Note: For more detailed RADIUS information, refer to 1FINITY RADIUS User Guide, available on the Fujitsu
Partners website, https://partners.fnc.fujitsu.com/documentation.

REST API

The 1FINITY REST API web service allows users or software systems to interact with and configure the 1FINITY
system through a YANG-data-model-based REST API. The REST API web service is disabled by default and uses
the HTTP/HTTP web server service.
Note: For more detailed REST API information, refer to 1FINITY REST API User Guide, available on the Fujitsu
Partners website, https://partners.fnc.fujitsu.com/documentation.
1.7.6

Secure Shell

SSH is a client-server network protocol for secure communication sessions between hosts over TCP/IP network
connections. 1FINITY NEs can participate as either client or server. The SSH server service is enabled by default
and listens on TCP port 22. The TCP port is configurable. CLI uses the SSH server service.
1.7.7

Streaming Telemetry

1FINITY devices support streaming telemetry. Streaming telemetry provides a periodic push mechanism to send
operational state data from a network element to a monitoring server (network management system). A simple
configuration mechanism consists of uploading a configuration file that describes the destination(s) (for example,
address and port), and separate command file(s) which consist of NETCONF XML get requests for data of
interest. The command files can select the entire tree or focus on a particular monitoring point.
Note: For more detailed streaming telemetry information, refer to 1FINITY Telemetry User Guide, available on
the Fujitsu Partners website, https://partners.fnc.fujitsu.com/documentation.
1.7.8

Syslog (RFC 5424)

Syslog is a standard protocol used to send event notification messages to a logging server. Syslog is enabled by
default on 1FINITY NEs to capture logs generated by different applications. Syslog uses the standard BSD syslog
protocol, specified in RFC 3164. The logs cover information, for example, login success/failures, config change
notifications, and application errors.
