1FINITY NEs support Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) using Terminal Access Controller
Access-Control System Plus (TACACS+). The TACACS+ is an open, distributed client‑server protocol that is widely
supported and provides independent control over AAA. An AAA server provides authentication, authorization,
and accounting services. The TACACS+ services are maintained on TACACS+ servers independent of 1FINITY NEs.
Key benefits of using TACACS+ are user accounts, user authorization, session authorization and accounting can
be centrally maintained in a distributed environment.
