L160 Raman Blade Operational Requirement and Considerations
■ Minimum outside plant fiber distance is 40 km
■ Minimum span loss is 15 dB
■ Optical return loss is greater than 17.6 dB
■ Total Loss (bulk loss) between L160 Raman blade and the outside plan transmission line is lesser than 1 dB
■ Accumulated loss in the fiber (splices and connectors loss), particularly in the first 20 km, should be kept to a
minimum as this could affect Raman gain. Performance is best with the cleanest possible transmission line.
