Changing the Brightness of the Backlight (LCD Brightness)
(Mobile Only)
The transceiver can be used in dark places or at night by obscuring the brightness of the backlight.
Pressing the LCD Brightness key gradates the brightness of the backlight. The brightness level changes in the following
order: High  Low  Off. Status of the backlight's brightness that was changed by the LCD Brightness key is retained
even after the transceiver is turned OFF.
The brightness of the backlight can be changed using KPG-111D/ DN.

The Icons on the LCD

The following icons are available in the icon display area of the LCD.
Icons
• Monitor Open/ Squelch Off Icon
Appears when the transceiver is unmuted, or when signaling is disabled.
• Call Icon
Indicates the status of the signaling. There are 2 states as follows:
Lighted: The state where the PTT switch is pressed and the Optional Signaling is disabled.
Blinking: The state where the Optional Signaling matches.
• Zone Add Icon
Appears when the zone to be scanned is selected.
(Left)
• CH/GID Add Icon
Appears when the channel or the GID to be scanned is selected.
(Right)
• Scan Icon
The scan status appears. There are 2 states as follows:
Lighted: Scanning.
Blinking: Scan is paused.
• Message Stack Icon
Appears when the received message is stored in the transceiver stack memory. There are 2 states as follows:
Lighted: The state when the message is stored in the transceiver stack memory.
Blinking: The state when the unread message is stored in the transceiver stack memory.
• Priority Channel Icon
Appears when the Priority Channel is selected.
: Priority 1 Channel
: Priority 2 Channel
: Priority 1 & 2 Channel
• Operator Selectable Tone Icon
Appears when the OST is enabled.
