6.7 Adjusting Audio Characteristics (NXDN System only)

External Microphone Type

External Microphone Type is the function to configure the type of the external microphone to be connected to the
transceiver and keep the audio in optimum condition.
The external microphones to be connected to the transceiver have different audio characteristics. Use of this function
equalizes audio characteristics and adjusts the condition appropriate for digitalization.

• To use the external microphone unlisted in the description of Table 6-13, we recommend configuring External Microphone Type as
"None".
• The transceiver enters External Microphone Type Mode by a user pressing the Menu key to enter Menu Mode, and then selecting
"External Microphone Type". In External Microphone Type Mode, the configuration for External Microphone Type can be changed.
• For Mobile, "Microphone 4" and "Microphone 5" are not available.

Disables the capability to adjust audio characteristics. This needs to be configured if an external
microphone is not connected or if other external devices are connected to the transceiver.
Enables the capability to adjust the audio characteristics of the following microphones.
Portable:
KMC-41, KMC-42W, KMC-51, KMC-52
Mobile:
KMC-35, KMC-36
Enables the capability to adjust the audio characteristics of the following microphones.
Portable:
KMC-25, KMC-38GPS, KMC-47GPS
Mobile:
KMC-30, KMC-32
Enables the capability to adjust the audio characteristics of the following microphones.

KHS-11, KHS-12, KHS-14
Mobile:
