20.2 VGS-1
Configuration for Sending the PTT ID (ANI Code)
Whether to send the ANI code can be configured using KPG-111D/ DN.

20.2 VGS-1
The VGS-1 (Voice Guide and Storage Unit) can be used with the transceiver.
By using the VGS-1, the transceiver can record audio or play recorded audio, or provide Voice Guide and GPS Data
Storage functions.
Functions of VGS-1 can be used by connecting the VGS-1 to the 26-pin connector in the transceiver and configuring
"VGS-1" for Optional Board using KPG-111D/ DN.
Note
• Refer to the CSI for instructions on how to install the VGS-1.
• For details, refer to the instruction manual supplied with VGS-1.
• If two or more functions in the VGS-1 are simultaneously activated, VGS-1 may not operate properly at certain times.
Recording Received Audio Automatically (Auto Recording)
Auto Recording can be used for automatically recording transmitted or received audio.
The transceiver can record the following types of audio:
• Audio on the input line of the microphone while the PTT switch is pressed
• Audio transmitted in Emergency Mode
• Received audio
The audio transmitted by pressing the PTT switch or in Emergency Mode can be recorded. Unmodulated audio such as
Transpond or data transmissions are not recorded.
A user can hear stored audio by using Message Playback. (Refer to
Playback) on page 466.)
Either 30 sec or "Disable" can be configured for the Auto Recording duration using KPG-111D/ DN. Auto Recording is not
available if "Disable" is configured.
Note
• Maximum recording time for Auto Recording, Voice Memo and Auto Reply Message is 300 sec in total.
• Auto Recording is disabled if Voice Memo Mode, Auto Reply Message Mode or Message Playback Mode is enabled.
• The transceiver may not be able to record the beginning of the audio if GPS Data Storage is enabled.
• This function is unavailable for NX-200S/ NX-300S.
