9 NXDN TRUNKING SYSTEM
9.3 Registration in an NXDN Trunking System
Transceiver's Behavior if the Transceiver Begins Location Registration and Group
Registration
The following is the transceiver's behavior if the transceiver begins location registration and group registration.
The transceiver remains on the acquired control channel if both location registration and group registration are
successful.
The transceiver attempts to acquire a control channel again if the transceiver receives a response message from
the system indicating rejection of group registration, even if location registration is successful.
The transceiver remains on the acquired control channel without registering the group if the transceiver receives
a response message from the system indicating failure in Group Registration, even if location registration is
successful. If Group-registration Invalid Tone is enabled, the Group-registration Invalid Tone sounds from the
transceiver at 30-sec intervals. Also, if Group-registration Invalid Tone is enabled, "GP REG INVALID" and GID
Name alternately appear on the transceiver main display at 1-sec intervals.

Transceiver's Behavior for Group-registration
The transceiver starts Group-registration if changing to a Group ID without group registration, or if attempting to transmit
using a Group ID without group registration. Following is the transceiver's behavior during Group-registration.
The transceiver remains on the acquired control channel if the transceiver receives a response message from the
system indicating permission for group registration.
The transceiver attempts to acquire a control channel again if the transceiver receives a response message from
the system indicating rejection of group registration, or if the transceiver does not receive any response from the
system, or if the timer for random access expires.
The transceiver remains on the acquired control channel without registering the group if the transceiver receives
the response message from the system indicating failure in group registration. If Group-registration Invalid Tone is
enabled, the Group-registration Invalid Tone sounds from the transceiver at 30-sec intervals. Also, if Group-
registration Invalid Tone is enabled, "GP REG INVALID" and GID Name alternately appear on the transceiver
main display at 1-sec intervals.
